Our Rawdhatul Uloom Islamic Primary School is under the trusteeship of Siddiqiyya Educational Trust. It is maintained by the Trust. As an Independent School, the School Business Manager along with the Head teacher is the Admissions authority and is responsible for taking decisions on applications for admissions. The co-ordination of admissions arrangements is undertaken by the Trustees. For the school’s start of each academic year, the Trustees have set its admissions number at 20.
ADMISSIONS TO THE SCHOOL will be made by the School Business Manager. ADMISSIONS CRITERIA forming a priority will be as follows:
- Special Educational Needs – Our school is inclusive and we welcome applications from children of all abilities. Pupils with special educational needs (SEN) will be reviewed at the time of application. Majority of pupils with special educational needs, including pupils with a statement, can have their needs better met in a mainstream setting.
- Applicants having siblings on our admission register will be given priority of admission.
- For ‘In Year’ applications received outside the normal admissions round and if places are available then children qualifying under the published criteria will be admitted. If there are places available but more applicants than places, then the criteria will be applied. ‘In Year’ and late applicants will be treated as per the admission arrangements.
- If an application for admission has been turned down by the Head teacher, parents can appeal to the Trustees. This appeal must be sent in writing to the Trustees within 14 days (10 working days) of refusal. Parents must give reasons for appealing in writing and the decision of the Trustees is binding on the Head teacher.
- The Head teacher and Trustees reserve the right to withdraw the offer of a school place where false evidence is received in relation to any sibling connections or place of residence.
Siblings are defined as pupils who have a brother or sister (including half brothers and sisters or step brothers and sisters living in the same household) at the school at the time of admission.
